DEVELON: Investment in new German site

With vision, speed and consistency

DEVELON sets the course for further growth in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A modern DEVELON customer and training centre with a demo area for testing the machines for the German-speaking countries is being built on a site of around 10,650 m². The completion of the new location is planned for the 3rd quarter of 2024. This will bring  DEVELON much closer to its customers and dealers and clearly demonstrate its commitment to Germany as a business location.

Already on the accelerator

To ensure that customers do not have to wait, operations at a transitional location were already started in March 2023, so that large parts of the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse can already be supplied with spare parts and services. A well-equipped new rental park with the latest generation of construction machinery is available to bridge order peaks, to conserve the company’s own capital requirements or to be able to test a product over a longer period of time. The experienced sales team is also already in place.

Departure, continuity and consistency

With the decision to take over sales, rental and service for a clearly defined market area, DEVELON is by no means moving away from the proven and successful market development with its trade partners. In future, they will also be better supported by a German-speaking office staff from Mannheim.

Best positioned

In total, DEVELON plans to create over 40 new jobs in the region at the new location. To ensure the best possible framework conditions, an independent company, HD Hyundai Infracore Deutschland GmbH, was founded. This is another sign of DEVELON’s long-term commitment to Germany as a business location and underpins its ambitions to significantly expand its presence and market position in the German-speaking market.

As early as March 2023, DEVELON was able to introduce Andreas M. Lohner as the new Sales Manager for the D-A-CH region and Eastern Europe and, at the same time, Managing Director of HD Hyundai Infracore Deutschland GmbH. He sees DEVELON very well positioned for the future: “Both the target location in Lempacher Straße and our transitional location in Seckenheimer Landstraße in Mannheim are convincing due to their optimal location and quick accessibility. By deciding on a fully equipped transitional location, with a workshop that will start operating in June, a well-stocked spare parts warehouse, a rental park, the latest generation of machines and a wide range of new machines, we can already provide fast, pragmatic and reliable support to customers and partners in the Rhine-Neckar metro region. Every new customer actively helps to create more jobs in the region.”

Successful German Dealer Meeting in Frankfurt

Develon recently held a meeting with its German dealers on 22nd March in Frankfurt to discuss the new brand direction. One of the key topics discussed was the introduction of the Develon brand and its Corporate Identity (CI) guidelines. Attendees received a detailed explanation of the brand’s background, mission, values, and what aspects of the brand would be changed and what would remain the same.

The meeting was also crucial in terms of marketing and communications. Participants were informed about the various marketing materials available to dealers, such as advertising, social media campaigns, merchandise, and fairs. Additionally, the importance of dealer facility rebranding with the support of the Brand Partnership Program (BPP) was discussed.

Another key aspect of the meeting was the introduction of the Key Account Plan and the German Company Owned Store, which was launched at the beginning of 2023.

After the presentation and discussions, participants were invited to dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Doosan Dealer Reflects on a Successful NordBau

Von der Wehl Unternehmensgruppe, a long-standing Doosan dealer in Northern Germany, reports a successful NordBau exhibition for the Doosan brand. Nordbau is Northern Europe’s largest compact construction trade fair and was again held as before in Neumünster from 7-11 September; with around 850 exhibitors attracting more than 40,000 visitors to the exhibition grounds.

In one of the largest sections of NordBau, the Von der Wehl Group presented a wide range of products: in addition to construction machinery, this included truck equipment, a wide range of attachments and customized solutions developed in-house.

The new range of Doosan DX-7 wheeled and crawler excavators proved to be a highlight for visitors to the fair. With many upgrades and improvements in all areas, the new DX-7 excavators offer the best combination of performance, smooth and intuitive controls, sustainable productivity and a strong price-performance ratio.

Kai Winkler, Sales Manager at the Von der Wehl Group, is pleased with the results of NordBau 2022: “We are more than happy that so many visitors found their way to our booth. We are particularly pleased with the great interest in our Doosan machines.” He added that the trade show had seen several sales closed during Nordbau and that many new contacts had been made. “We will have a lot to do in the near future,” Winkler summed up with satisfaction.

The foundation stone for today’s Von der Wehl Group was laid in 1965 by company founder Burghard von der Wehl and today it is a third generation family company. The group employs over 200 people at four locations in northern Germany and today offers a comprehensive range of construction equipment for rental and sale.

Doosan Appoints D.O.B. Landtechnik AG as New Doosan Dealer

D.O.B. Landtechnik AG, based in Lauterhofen, has been appointed as the new Authorised Doosan dealer for northern and eastern Bavaria in Germany.

Markus Schweers, GSA District Sales Manager at Doosan, says: “With this new partnership, we have a real win-win situation that will continue to optimally meet the requirements of our customers with innovative solutions that work.”

Franz Oettl, CEO of D.O.B. Landtechnik AG, adds: “To expand the product portfolio of our still young construction machinery division, we were looking for a manufacturer who, in addition to high product quality and the right product range, also has strong innovative strength and good, reliable machines. We found this manufacturer in Doosan.”

The family-run company, D.O.B. Landtechnik AG, was founded in 1996 and has around 150 employees. In addition to the main branch for construction machinery in Regensburg, the D.O.B. They have worked closely together for six years and are responsible for the further development of the construction machinery division within D.O.B. Since mid-2022, Thomas Lermer, also with many years of experience in construction machinery technology, has been part of D.O.B. in the important position of cross-branch workshop manager with a focus on customer service.

Doosan ‘Transparent Bucket’ Wins Major Award in France

The industry’s first ‘Transparent Bucket’ system launched by Doosan Infracore Europe, has won another major award in Europe. The latest honour is the ‘Coup de Coeur’ – Jury’s favourite – Award from the Jury of the 4th edition of the Grands Prix Matériels Chantiers de France and DLR, which took place in Nantes, France, on Friday, 1st April 2022, during the recent national DLR 2022 Congress.

After receiving the new award on behalf of Doosan, Gilles Bendaoud, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Doosan Infracore Europe, explained: “As safety standards for machines and job sites continue to tighten around the world, sophisticated safety systems have become a key factor in the selection of a machine. We look forward to being at the forefront of promoting safer and accident-free work sites.”

Patents filed in Korea, North America, Europe and China

Doosan Infracore is the first company in the world to develop and apply a front loading function with a transparent bucket and a full vision system for construction machines. This innovation is protected by several patents in Korea, North America, Europe and China.

Doosan has also developed other advanced safety systems for the machine lines in its portfolio, such as the All-round Vision Monitor (AVM) system, which displays the entire area surrounding the machine, and an obstacle detection system behind the machine using ultrasonic sensors. Both of these systems have already met with great success with customers.
